Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the ZATO application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
2. Use of the App
ZATO is a personal vehicle management app that allows you to track expenses, manage service reminders, and communicate with other drivers. You agree to use the app only for its intended purposes and in compliance with applicable laws. The app is intended for users aged 18 and over.
3. User Accounts
You must sign in with a valid Google account to use ZATO. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at hello@getzato.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Vehicle Data & Messaging
You may share your car's licence plate with other ZATO users to allow them to contact you. By enabling this feature, you consent to receiving messages from other users. You may enable anonymous chat mode to hide your name and photo from other users. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the vehicle data you enter and the content of messages you send. ZATO Chat is intended exclusively for legitimate driver-to-driver communication about vehicle-related situations.
5. Prohibited Uses
You may not use ZATO to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users
- Transmit spam, malware, or unlawful content
- Use the chat feature for advertising, solicitation, or personal disputes unrelated to vehicles
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
- Reverse engineer or copy any part of the app
- Submit false or malicious reports against other users
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent closure.
6. Chat Moderation & Enforcement
To maintain a safe and respectful community, ZATO operates an automated moderation system:
- Reporting: Any user may report a conversation using the ⋮ menu in the chat screen. Reports are anonymous to the reported user.
- Strikes: Each unique user who reports you counts as one strike against your account. Strikes are cumulative.
- Automatic Restrictions: Reaching 3 strikes results in a 30-day chat restriction. 6 strikes results in 90 days. 9 or more strikes results in a 1-year restriction. During a restriction, you cannot send or receive chat messages regardless of your subscription plan.
- Appeals: If you believe a restriction was applied in error, contact us at hello@getzato.com. We review all appeals and may lift or adjust restrictions at our discretion.
- Manual Action: We reserve the right to restrict or permanently close any account at any time if we determine the service is being misused, without prior notice.
7. Analytics
ZATO uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect anonymised usage data such as screen views, session duration, and device information. This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. It does not identify you personally and is not used for advertising. You can opt out of analytics collection through your device settings.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and trademarks within ZATO are the property of Zira Software and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
9. Disclaimers
ZATO is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data entered will never be lost. Service reminders and expense tracking are tools to assist you — they do not replace professional advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zira Software shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use ZATO, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of ZATO after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
